The diary of an Alexander McQueen creative youth collaboration

Words could not describe my excitement the day I receive the call to be part of the Alexander McQueen Project in Wales. In the summer of 2020, we joined up with a group of young people in the valleys of South Wales to start an educational project in the country whose rich landscape, craft, poetry and literature inspired Sarah Burton’s Autumn Winter 2020 collection. The project encompassed a series of workshops developed for young people based in Welsh communities, with the aim to inspire and bring insight into fashion and the creative arts. Casting, customisation, photography and embroidery workshops were built and designed to offer hands-on experiences of the ways to make clothes and images.
