Our melanin speaks volumes and I no longer want to hide in the shadows but instead showcase and embrace my complexion and culture as it is. As a professional circus artist, my mind naturally goes to potential uses in circus, and the principle of this research concept came about when I visualised this gravity-defying skirt held in suspension, highlighting and emphasising the suspension of balancing a handstand.

The diary of a creative youth collaboration is finally out. I feel so privileged to be part of this. A creative educational partnership evolved between #AlexanderMcQueen, @_CharlotteJames_ and @clementineschneider2.0 from @bleakfabulous. The project encompassed a series of workshops developed for young people based in Welsh communities, with the aim to inspire and bring insight into fashion and the creative arts. In the summer of 2020, we joined up with a group of young people in the valleys of South Wales to start an educational project in the country whose rich landscape, craft, poetry and literature inspired Sarah Burton’s Autumn Winter 2020 collection. Casting, customisation, photography and embroidery workshops were built and designed to offer hands-on experiences of the ways to make clothes and images.
